Templates

Templates are used to define a set of pay items and rates common to a group of employees. A template contains the standard hours and rate of pay for each pay item, and can be used to quickly apply 'across the board' changes to groups of employees.

ClosedFor example:

A group of employees are on the same base rate of pay, all work varying overtime and all receive meal allowance. This can be represented in a template containing the common items:
Pay item Hrs/units Pay rate
Ordinary time 38.0000 15.0267
Double time 0.0000 15.0267
Meal allowance 5.0000 12.7500

Rate change Reason due to Template Change

If you have templates attached to employees, and the pay rates are changed in these templates, the employee files must be updated using Apply Related.

When you make changes to a template, you will be prompted to provide a reason for the rate change – this will be applied to all employees who are using this template. This reason will be written to the employees’ rate history file.

Adding / Editing the Rate Change Reasons

There are several predefined Rate Change Reasons. You may make changes to these (other than ‘Pay rate at commencement ’) or add new reasons via Validation Tables.
